As the days grow continually shorter and the leaves start to turn, the possibilities of September begins to build. Fall has a way of bringing out the yin and yang of the universe in that way. This year, as I leave behind the studio I founded nine years ago (but sold two years back), I find that fresh energy is flowing abundantly. I want to share my excitement for this September and am called to offer my energy in the journey towards your best self!
This Month's Mantra
"I am excited about the new adventures ahead. I am filled with hope and excitement for the endless possibilities on the horizon." Said by me, Mindy!
What I Am Excited For
So many things! But I narrowed it down to a few to share:
🍁Fall Hiking Weather. I don't always have time to get to Glacier National Park, but quick hikes up Lone Pine right here in town are a favorite this time of year as well!
🍁High Aerial Silks Classes start the first week of September. It's been 21 months since we have had access to high ceilings, and I am beyond excited to be able to teach these classes being offered through the Flathead Gymnastics Academy.
🍁Back-to-School. I have always loved back-to-school season. New clothes, new school supplies (notebooks are my favorite), and new goals. This year, I am channeling my back-to-school excitement to renew my CPR & First Aid certification and add an XPERT Fitness Aerial Silks Certification to arsenal of certifications. My many certifications enable me to quickly empower you, which is truly my calling.
What I Am Munching On
As an AFAA Certified Nutrition Coach, I am well educated on an evidence-backed approach to supplementation to avoid wasteful spending and adverse health effects. Supplements like protein, creatine monohydrate, and essential amino acids have strong evidence supporting enhanced muscle gain.
Therefore, my favorite supplements right now are Bluebonnet's Whey Protein Isolate and Thorne's Creatine. The creatine is tasteless so you can add it to anything, but it's easy to scoop it in with the whey protein. I add both to a bit of almond milk with frozen blueberries and chia seeds for a protein laden ice-cream-like dessert.
These supplements don the best muscle-building results when combined with resistance training💪. So, don't forget to carve out some time in your fall schedule for some weightlifting exercises. Please know that you can come try a class with my small personal training group free anytime. We work out Tuesday and Thursday 6:40-7:40 am and I would love to hold space for you. Reach out for more details and directions to Dr. Popp's Tango Studio where the class is held.
What I Am Listening To
My favorite song right now is Move by Adam Port · Stryv · Keinemusik · Orso · Malachiii. If you needed another reason to get moving this month, let this be it!
The podcast I am recommending this month is tied in with my supplement recommendations above. Listen to Dr. Stacy Sims talk with Danica Patrick about the essential nutrient creatine here.
I am grateful to you, my community, for embarking on a journey to your best self along with me. I am committed to helping foster your growth as well as my own. Let's welcome September 2024 with open arms and an open mind, ready to embrace all the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
Thanks for reading my article. The Elevated Life blog is dedicated to anyone and everyone striving to find an actionable route to their best self and highest potential, and I am so happy to have you here.
